Our Friend John

The week after Easter, actually, Easter night, brought our friend John from UT. He had been helping us build the Chiropractic/Massage Therapy part of our doTerra work with a few monthly visits. He held meetings with professionals, teaching them (and us) about essential oils and doTerra. The kids love his visits and the first time he came they called him "Papa Jim"(my Dad's name and quite a high compliment to John! : ) until the very last day. But now he is John ("like John the Baptist") or "Johnny" as Caleb spontaneously and hilariously called him during his last visit. : )

In April John decided that all these visits to Lancaster, PA warranted a little local flavor and a fun excursion, so one night we went out to eat Pennsylvania Dutch specialties family style. We shared a table and some Shew Fly Pie with a really adorable little family from Long Island, complete with great accents. Dad was a teacher and they were on vacation for Spring Break. It is always funny to me that people vacation where we live. The food was all really yummy. We had never had Shew Fly Pie before. It's a molassas, brown sugar kinda pie...super yummy. Ben was so happy to be able to enjoy a bit of pie and ice cream! Then, another day, John and Jared visited the Hershey Chocolate Factory (which made me think of Curious George : ). They made custom candy bars for John and his wife. Fun!

John also works in real estate. During the course of his visits here he and his partners bought a house in Lancaster at a foreclosure auction to rehab and sell. He is a busy, fun and knowledgeable friend. We have really enjoyed his visits.
