Our New House

The night we arrived in California, near the end of June, Jared decided to just check and see if their were any promising houses on craigslist before bed. He found a 4 bedroom house, 3 car garage, with a huge back yard and a garden. It was dog friendly and for the same rent as all the 3 bedroom, barely any yard at all houses, with just a very small deposit and no additional pet deposit! Most of the other homes required first and last months rent and a huge pet deposit. He was pretty excited and called me in to look. 

He emailed right away, talked with the owners the next day, Sunday, and that afternoon we went to look at the house. Another couple was there looking also, but the owners called us within about a half an hour and said, "We love you guys, the house is yours if you want it." We were so excited. Another blessing was that the house didn't open up until the first of August which allowed time for our student loan check to come in. 

Then in the last week in July the owners called and said, "We're out early, would you guys like the rest of the week rent free?" So we moved right in. 

Here are some photos of our house, street and yard. As we get each room put together (which won't be for a while because it will take some time to save up for furniture :), we'll post pics of the inside. Even without furniture though, we really love our new home! :)
