Doggie Heaven

While we were staying with the Sechrists Jared and I had a difficult decision to make regarding our dogs. We've had them as a part of our family since they were darling little puppies, we love them so much, but we ultimately decided that it was better for them and for our family to find them a new home. It was a great miraculous story and our dogs ended up somewhere better than we could have ever imagined. They live with a single woman, a mini-dachshund lover who has a 4 acre farmette. She also keeps cows and miniature horses as pets. She has a beautiful yard for the dogs to run and play and hunt rabbits in, a doggie door, wet dog food, birthday parties, Christmas presents, Easter baskets and a couple of weekends a month at her house on the Chesapeake bay, all for her dogs. When Elsie and Rhynnie joined her family, that brought her total to 5, mini-dachshunds. They sleep in her bed, Elsie barrel races for her, Rhynnie hugs her and "talks" to her just like she did for us. We are so thankful that the Lord provided the perfect place for our sweet girls. It was heartbreaking to let them go. All of us have cried and still miss them dearly...I think we always will...but we feel good about the life we gave them. It was funny, during one visit, my new Visiting Teachers quietly looked at me and said are they really "at the farm down the road" or is that just what you're telling the kids? :) Nope, Elsie and Rhynnie are alive and well...but they have gone to doggie heaven! :)
